Brief tutorial on the construction of geomembrane welding machine

1. Pre-construction preparation

Site cleaning: remove debris (mud, sand, water stains) on the membrane surface, lap width ≥ 10cm.

Equipment commissioning: check the temperature of the welding machine (set with reference to the thickness of the membrane), traveling speed (usually 1.5~2.5m/min).

2. Welding operation

Hot wedge welding:

Preheat the welder to the set temperature (e.g. about 300~400℃ for HDPE membrane).

The welder advances at a constant speed, and the pressure wheel is synchronized with the compaction of the weld.

Squeeze the welding gun repair:

T-shaped seams, broken patch welding, welding rod completely cover the gap.

3. Quality Inspection

Visual Inspection: Weld seam is flat and free of bubbles/leakage.

Destructive testing: random sampling, weld tear strength ≥ 85% of the base material.

4. Safety Warning

Wear high temperature resistant gloves to avoid burns.

Stop working on windy/rainy/snowy days, the film surface needs to be dry.
